Dark Moon Week · Regulus Rising · The Wild Woman Calls
Moon Day Newsletter · August 18–24
Close your eyes. Breathe into the quiet curve of the sky.
The Moon is in her darkening — the fertile void, Hekate’s hour, the space between inhale and exhale.
This is the pause before the becoming. The night before the seed.
Let’s begin the sacred week.
Monday: She returns home to Cancer, curling into familiar waters.
The Moon in Cancer is like a queen reclaiming her throne — this is her home sign, where she moves with instinctive ease. Here, she gathers the threads of emotional security, belonging, and nourishment into a soft quilt you can wrap around your soul.
Expect heightened intuition and an urge to cocoon. You might find yourself craving the scent of familiar places, the taste of comfort food, the sound of voices that know your name by heart. Your inner child may awaken, tugging at you for safety, warmth, and unconditional love.
Cancer Moon reminds us: the body is a temple, the heart is a compass, and nourishment is holy. If the world feels unsteady, this placement can stir melancholy or longing for “home” — but it can also guide you to create that home within yourself.
Tuesday: The Moon slips into her Balsamic phase and meets Jupiter, while the Sun trines Chiron. The ache has wisdom; the wound isn’t the ending — it’s the threshold.
The Balsamic phase is the soul’s twilight, the sacred stillness before a New Moon. It’s when the garden is cleared, the seeds of the last cycle returned to the earth. This is a time for rest, reflection, and surrender — gathering strength for what’s next.
You may feel out of sync with the rush of the world, moving instead in deep-time, attuned to what’s ending and what must be released. It’s an invitation to distill the wisdom of the past month, to let go of what no longer belongs in your soil, and to tend to your dreams in the half-light.
With Jupiter’s expansive touch, the letting-go may come with flashes of meaning or unexpected blessings. The Sun’s trine to Chiron softens old aches into openings — making it easier to forgive, to integrate, to see the gift in what once felt like only pain.
Wednesday: She embraces Venus in a tender meeting before slipping into Void-of-Course, drifting between signs until she finds her way into Leo’s bright gates.
A VoC Moon is a natural cosmic pause — the Moon makes no major aspects before changing signs, and her ability to carry planetary messages quiets. It’s not the time for launches or bold first steps; it’s the time for stillness, for letting things be what they are without forcing them into form.
In the silence of this pause, divination speaks louder, dreams grow clearer, and rest becomes an act of devotion.
Thursday: She meets Mercury in Leo, exchanging a flash of insight, then slips once again into VoC. The skies hold their breath.
Friday: The Moon remains in VoC as the Sun crosses from Leo into Virgo — a seasonal shift from fire to earth, from the roaring heart to the patient harvest. Here, leadership becomes service, vision becomes craft, and what was only a dream begins to find its container.
Saturday: The New Moon arrives at 0° Virgo, holding hands with the fixed star Regulus — the Heart of the Lion.
For thousands of years, Regulus sat in the constellation Leo, guarding the eastern royal gate of the heavens. Ancient Persians named it one of the Four Royal Stars — a cosmic guardian of honor, courage, and destiny. Today, by precession, it rests in the very first degree of Virgo. Yet the lion’s heart still beats, blending Leo’s nobility with Virgo’s devotion.
In Leo, Regulus crowned kings and queens with visibility, creativity, and sovereignty. In Virgo, its gifts shift from self-glory to sacred service. Here, true power is not about command, but contribution. It is the integrity to refine your craft, the devotion to serve with skill, and the courage to let your light uplift others.
This New Moon marks the first of two in Virgo this season — the second will rise at the anaretic 29°, just before the Sun departs the sign. A rare double activation, it opens a portal for planting intentions twice: the first sowing now, the second maturing and clarifying what was begun.
Sunday: The Sun square Uranus and bring the unexpected: plans unravel, revelations arrive sideways, and the need for freedom grows uncontainable. Uranus is the awakener — and in hard aspect to the Sun, it jolts you out of stale patterns, often abruptly.
This energy can be exhilarating if you’re ready for change, or unsettling if you’ve been clinging to the familiar. Relationships may ignite with flashes of inspiration or spark with friction, depending on how well each person can hold space for surprise. Technology, travel, and schedules may veer off course.
Unconsciously, this transit can play out as accidents, conflicts, or sudden breaks. Consciously, it becomes the breath of fresh air that carries Saturday’s intentions into motion.
Break your own pattern before the world does it for you. Make the change you’ve been longing for. Let Uranus scatter the seeds of your Regulus vows into places you could never have imagined on your own.
The Day the Wild Woman Walked Into My Client Session
A few weeks ago, mid-reading, I felt them arrive — fierce, untamed, unapologetic feminine forces.
Artemis with her bow. Persephone at the threshold. Hekate holding torches. Medusa’s unflinching gaze. The Amazon Queens — Hippolyta, Amazone, Antiope. And Black Moon Lilith, sovereign and unbound.
They weren’t symbols on a chart; they were here.
For many of us, there’s a chapter where we began to shrink — smiling instead of roaring, agreeing instead of disrupting, blending instead of standing out. Often, we don’t notice the moment we tucked our wildness away.
These archetypes are here to call her back. They mark the untamed, instinctual, wholly-your-own parts of you — the ones still written in your birth chart, waiting to be reclaimed.
I wrote about this awakening here: The Rise of the Wild Woman Asteroid Goddesses
In the weeks ahead, I’ll share ways to meet them in your chart — because your wild self is still here, and she’s written in your stars.

Hekate Masterclass Update
A couple months ago, my workshop partner Dawn of Astrology and Tarot Alchemy and I spoke about creating a Hekate Masterclass. Then life swept us both — Dawn traveled through Europe, and I dove into client branding and business projects.
The momentum paused, but the rhythm has returned. What began as scattered notes has grown into a living document — a pulse of myth, astrology, and ritual. We’re now shaping this into a Hekate Workshop for October.
If you’d like to help us shape it, I’d love to send you what we’re calling now the Hekate Masterclass Ebook. Just message me here, and you’ll be among the one to shape the torchlit path with us.
Have a beautiful week!
